“and the fig tree will ache
with sweetness for you
… even when you can’t stand it”
With its pert, juicy buttocks
Brimful of pink flesh. Sweet.
Delicious. Aching for you …
Form fully in your roots, Fig says.
Grow well in your place.
Live where you are planted,
Instead of dreaming a life away.
There is no promise of an afterlife.
